
Steve Boles is the president and founder of KUZUKA. Steve has been active in the climate change community as a scientist and consultant for over 12 years. Steve received his Master of Science degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 1998 and spent the next eight years working as a scientist at one of the world’s leading climate change research centers at the University of New Hampshire. He researched how changes in the management of agriculture and forestry land uses influence greenhouse gas emissions.
In 2006, Steve returned to Canada and founded KUZUKA. As the principal consultant for KUZUKA, Steve has managed projects in a range of service areas, including greenhouse gas inventories, carbon offset project development, risk and opportunity planning in the low carbon economy, education and training, and corporate sustainability planning.
KUZUKA has evolved into a leading consulting firm that guides both public and private sector clients as they engage in carbon management and corporate sustainability.
Steve places a great deal of importance on knowledge transfer and communications. He has spoken at many different types of events including science-based conferences, industry trade shows, training workshops, and internal corporate meetings. Steve is the lead instructor for the GHG management courses that are offered through the highly regarded Sustainability Learning Centre. In addition to his speaking and training engagements, Steve’s work has been published dozens of times in leading scientific journals and popular press, including as a regular columnist on sustainability issues for Canada’s leading wine industry magazine Orchard and Vine.
