Kuzuka leading sustainable manufacturing toolkit project

We are really excited about one of our newest projects leading the development of a sustainability toolkit for the manufacturing sector in Huron County. The toolkit will be an easy-to-use resource full of tips, strategies, and other information to help manufacturers understand and embrace the principles of sustainable business management.

The toolkit is going to be designed for small and medium size manufacturers. These companies often don’t have the staff resources to invest in a full-time sustainability manager, but they have just as much to gain as larger companies by investing in a sustainable future. The toolkit will educate them about what sustainability is all about and how they can best take advantage of their existing actions and data in a sustainability context.

Kuzuka is very proud to be partnering with London-based Tavares Group Consulting on this project. Tavares Group President Sandra Tavares is an environmental management consultant who has helped dozens of manufacturing companies throughout Ontario to reduce their environmental impact.

Three local manufacturers are participating in this project to provide feedback on the design of the toolkit – Dashwood Industries, Dynamic FX, and Iceculture. Other partners on this project include the Huron Manufacturing Association, the Midwestern Ontario Green Jobs Strategy, and the Huron County Sustainability Program.
