Projects
Here are some highlights of our most recent projects to show the range of services and project sizes that KUZUKA participates in.
GHG Inventory Services
KUZUKA contributed to the validation of Saputo’s greenhouse gas emissions accounting methodology from its 47 world-wide food processing facilities. KUZUKA confirmed that Saputo’s GHG methodology adhered to the GHG Protocol for Corporate Accounting or The Climate Registry General Reporting Protocol.
Carbon Offset Project Development
KUZUKA prepared the project design documents for a carbon offset project whose revenues will be used to introduce clean drinking water filters to a number of villages in southern Sudan. The water filters reduce greenhouse gas emissions as the need to harvest non-renewable fuel wood from the surrounding woodlots is eliminated. They are also a cost-effective way to provide clean drinking water to the Sudanese in an area where nearly three-quarters of all drinking water sources are contaminated by e-coli bacteria.
Delivery of GHG Management Training Programs
KUZUKA is conducting carbon footprint and greenhouse gas management on-line workshops for The Sustainability Learning Centre in November 2010 http://tinyurl.com/27stakx
Carbon Offset Marketplace
In 2008 KUZUKA launched an on-line marketplace for carbon offsets that brought credibility and consistency to the voluntary carbon offset market. The site featured offsets from a network of the world’s leading carbon retailers, most of whom continue to be represented in our Recommended Offsets listing.
Tourism Industry Environmental Scorecard
KUZUKA developed an environmental scorecard to promote the adoption of sustainable business practices amongst Huron County’s tourism sector. You can download a copy of the tourism scorecard in an easy-to-use Excel spreadsheet format.

Green Shipping Program for On-line Retailers
KUZUKA is organizing an end-of-purchase option for on-line customers of Grocery Gateway to donate a small amount to counterbalance the environmental impacts of their grocery delivery service. The customer donations will be used to help fund environmental projects in the province of Ontario.
